Unit Webmaster Patch Incentive Program

I have been attempting since being Webmaster to promote unit websites, particularly by taking advantage of our free webspace. Now a new option has arrived. The Unit Webmaster Patch, shown below.

This may look like a normal elected position patch, but it still must be worn on the right breast pocket of your shirt, as it is not official.

We now have enough money to get the patches. Our thanks go out to everyone who has donated their money for this patch. I hope our boys will take the opportunity to earn this patch, for themselves and their troops.

Rules and Requirements for the Unit Webmaster Patch:

1) Unit Webmaster may be an appointed position (if only one boy wants to do it) or an elected position.

2) In some troops, two boys may want the position in which case, a head and assistant should be elected in the normal Unit manner. This allows one Webmaster at all times should one leave the troop.

3) If unit website is stale or stagnant, and is evident that the boy is not putting his best effort into it as a scout should, the patch will not be given to the unit Webmaster.

4) The unit Webmaster should be- in Troops, Crews, and Posts- a Scout. An adult can be the Webmaster, but the boys should have first dibs on the title, as this can develop into something more than a desire to get a patch. Scoutmasters, Cubmasters, and Den Leaders who make and/or maintain websites for their packs and troops will also receive a patch.

5) Scouts who already hold positions (ex: Patrol Leader, Scribe, etc.) can earn the Unit Webmaster patch as well, however, they must attain the position as any other scout would. Appointment if alone, election if he is not the only one who wants it.

6) Head and Assistant Unit Webmasters will receive the same patch.

7) When appointed or elected, notify The Webmaster so he may observe your progress and site activity.

8) As the Webmaster patch is not official, it cannot be officially be worn on the Shirt Sleeve. It should be worn on the right breast pocket.

9) You must be a member of the Chief Cornstalk District to receive this patch.
