Update 3/7/06

    The Merit Badge College was a success! The Chief Cornstalk District would like to thank Mindy Saunders (Electricity), Geoff Saunders( Enviro Science), Mary Saunders( Personal Manage.), Donnie Saunders( Energy), Dr. Charles Wood (Family Life), Charles Puckett ( Nature/Mammal Study), Dr. David O'dell (Chemistry/ Soil & Water), Dr. Anne Olofson (Reptile & Amphibian), Kim Hensley (Space Exp.), Jennifer Godby (Reading), Charles Summers (Fingerprinting), Kathy Deskins (First Aid/ Emergency Prep), Richard Cumbridge and the Indian Re-enactor's (Indian Lore), and Harry Freeman (Citizenship in the World) We would like to extend a special thank you to Pastor John Goff , who agreed to teach the AM Family Life Merit Badge the night before the Merit Badge College. We would also like to thank Southern WV Community and Technical College for hosting this event, and look forward to the future in hopes that we will work together more.

 

Update 2/24/06

In addition to Cubmaster and Scoutmaster Indoor Training, Adult CPR and AED Training will be offered at the Merit badge College as well! The cost for this training will be 1 dollar, the cost of the card. This Training will be from 1:00 PM- 3:00 PM and if time permits will include one man, two man, child, and infant CPR; and AED training. Due to the number of updates, all documents needed will be posted in this update.

Be sure to bring the extra money for Indian Lore and Leatherwork.
Some adults have expressed an interest in sitting in on the Computer Merit Badge Class in the Morning. I will be teaching that class, and as many people as we have computers for are welcome to attend.( It is also the only class with no mandatory pre-reqs, everything can be done in class)

Adult training will also be offered at the Merit Badge College for Boy and Cub Scout Leaders. The training is free, but if you want lunch you must register and pay Five dollars.

Due to the webmaster being a worry wart, He would like to make sure everyone knows that for Indian Lore and Leatherwork badges you are to BRING the extra money with you!!! Also, if you are going to take Space Exploration,CLICK HERE FOR A PERMISSION SLIP THAT YOU MUST GET  SIGNED BY MARCH 4TH AND BRING IT WITH YOU!!!

The Registration Form and Pre-requisites can now be found by clicking the one you are looking for. The Registration form is a ".doc" file, open with your word processor; and the pre-reqs are a ".xlr" file, open with your spreadsheet program.

Welcome to the first update to the Merit Badge college page! On this page, all progress on the upcoming merit badge college will be posted. To start us off, a list of merit badges that, as of this moment, will be taught, along with the instructors.

The above list IS NOT FINAL!!! As needs dictate, some classes may be cancelled, others may be duplicated to accommodate needs. We hope for at least 5-6 more classes to be added before Christmas.

Registration will open JANUARY 1st!!! Registration Fee from Jan 1- Feb 24 2006 will be 10$. From Feb 25- March 4 it will be 15$. This includes lunch. 

Some classes have pre-requisites that must be done before you come to class if you wish to complete the merit badge that day. A list of these requirements will be sent to you upon your request for registration.
